First of all, I feel great today. Seriously. By yesterday afternoon I wasn’t sore and had loads of energy. I’m waking up every morning, almost an hour before my alarm and I’m feeling RESTED. This is a good thing.

Also, I feel very good that I will NOT be running with a fanny pack, unlike SOME people I know...

My palBirdrunner has convinced me to sign up for the Jingle Bell Run here in Little Rock. It won’t be as cold as Fargo, ND … where our own Cinde is gonna be trotting away…but it won’t be warm here in Little Rock. Anyway, I don’t like cold and I don’t really like running, so this should be win-win for me. *rolling eyes*

I basically have 6 weeks to get ready. This is supposed to be a 9 week program. I bet I can take care of business…I know I can walk a 5K…my goal is to run it.

Snow Birds unite! In honor of our upcoming teeth chattering event, I give you: Snow Miser

This is from, hands down, THE VERY BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIE EVER TO BE CREATED: The Year Without a Santa Claus

It kicks Peanuts in the ass.

NOT RUNNING RELATED BUT AWESOME ANYWAY:

My BFF and Writing Pal Maria Geraci has her first book available for Pre-Order on Amazon. BUNCO BABES TELL ALL

Just so you know, The Christmas Story is the best movie EVER.
Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown comes in a close second
Followed by Home Alone (like every kid in the world didn’t want to live that movie…plus it had a great soundtrack)

You are so jealous of my fanny pack.

The only thing good about the Christmas Story is the awesome leg lamp. I am so sick of that movie. Peanuts is boring and I was too old for Home Alone to truly enjoy it…

A YEAR WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS is the gift that keeps on giving…

  3. Although I love, love, love The Year Without A Santa Claus, I honestly think the best Christmas movie ever is Die Hard (the 1st one). The kids and I traditionally watch it on Christmas Eve, we have since they were much too young to be watching it.

  4. Cinde says:

Hey how cool! You should totally do it, I think it’s a great stepping stone. We are running on the same day too! So, we can cram our training in 5 weeks together.

  5. Hogzilla says:

OMG, so do we! But Snow Miser/Heat Miser wins out on the best in my mind… then comes Die Hard and Lethal Weapon and Long Kiss Goodnight. 🙂

  6. Cinde says:

I’ll stick with my all time fav Nat’l Lampoons Christmas Vacation… 😀 watch it every year.

  7. Mia says:

Okay, HZ, I was letting this alone, but now it’s on! The Best Christmas Show ever my shiney white hiney….

You’re going down and you are so now getting a bright orange fanny pack!

  8. A YEAR WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS is the bestest movie evah!
It’s the only Christmas show I’ll even watch anymore. Of course, I have to sing along too.

  9. Hogzilla says:

Jennifer–you are welcome to post here as often as you want…you are obviously a woman of taste.

mia…you can send me a dozen fanny packs, doesn’t mean I’ll wear them LOL

  10. KJ says:

That’s awesome Mel. I so need to fine a 5 K by me.

  11. KJ says:

Oh I so have to chime in and agree with Mel on her movie picks. I have to agree that The Christmas Story is overrated. Sorry. The heat miser is the best. And The Long Kiss Goodnight totally kicks butt. OMG! I knew we were friends for a reason.
