My plan for 2009 started out so simple: wake up on the 1st and weigh myself and then weigh less then that each subsequent month all year long. I’m not setting a 5-10 pound a month goal. I’m just writing down my food intake which includes anything with calories (gum, juice, food, etc.). My theory is as un unconscious snacker this kind of accountability will kick my butt.

It just so happened that this year I spent New Year’s dog sitting for some friends at their house. They have two bathroom scales and both damn scales are smarter then I am. Huh? They calculate BMI and body fat % and all kinds of crap. It asks me questions that are nobody’s business like how old am I, how tall am I. What the hell difference does it make how tall I am? I just want to know what I WEIGH!

Call me crazy but I like to keep things simple.
I add 5 pounds for each inch over 5 feet assuming that a person who is 5 feet tall should weigh around 100 pounds. Now, is this an exact science? No. It doesn’t take into account if you have big bones (mine are ginormous) or whatever. But let me tell you something there is NOTHING more frustrating then being unable to weigh yourself on New Year’s Day. Or the day after. Or the day after that.

Whatever. I am, however, hiking with a huge dog about 3 miles every day and I had no idea yanking on a leash could be such awesome resistance training. I wake up with aching muscles every morning.

Still, I’d like to take a moment here to give a HUGE shout out to HZ who has kicked some serious workout ass and has the CD to prove it.

YOU ROCK HZ! (and yes, I say that all the time but it’s still true).
In the meantime, I’ll just keep on keepin’ on.

    aw. thanks, babe.

You’re doing great. And trust me, maybe it’s better you’re not weighing. I now can’t stop myself from weighing Every damn day. Bad, Hz. Bad.

  2. GO LADIES!! I hope you both kick ass! or rather kick your ass 🙂

I still think that’s a great New Year’s start. Yay for getting your CD HZ, too!
