Took yesterday off because my legs were aching after Friday. And my blisters were no fun. I was walking around like Grandma Moses. It wasn’t pretty.

Will go back to the gym today. Need to do weights and will do the elliptical.

I blogged over at my personal website today, and it turned into a progress blog about my running, so if you guys wanna go check it out, feel free.

How’s everyone doing. KJ, I know you’ve been feeling sluggish and haven’t found the drive to get going–is it back? Anyone else?

Cinde, I have got the lifting book, but haven’t started reading yet because of my looming deadline. I hope to start in with it in February.

Jodie? You still out there?

Everyone chime in and update us!

Hi Mel, I commented on your update. You have been doing such a fantastic job, how long has it been now? I’ve been doing the lifting book for about 3 weeks now and am digging it, it’s similar to stuff I did in the past, like I’ve done a bout 75% exercises before some are hard! I still can’t keep my ass on that damn swiss ball doing a prone jack knife – brutal. That said it is hard for me in the sense I’m used to cutting and counting cals and working out 5-6 days a week and this only requires 3. It doesn’t seem like enough, but it is. I’m already seeing my triceps and calves pop back out again from my big lazy time off.

So that’s where I’m at, I’m interested in seeing what you will do with this book, lol because its not a good program for ld runners in the sense they do HIIT and no long cardio (runs) but there is a ton of great info on the whys of lifting and eating more than you thnk you should. I think these guys are geniuses IMO.

I’ll be updating my blog again soon once i get going here, hope e/o else is kickin it! and don’t give up e/o!

Well, re: the LD running thing, I don’t really consider myself that at all. I’m going for a goal. After the 10K, I plan to just run 3-4 days a week, 3-4 miles a day. Is that considered long distance? I have no idea. LOL

I did Body For Life years ago and was really impressed with the way my body shape changed and how good I felt. I’m really interested in the diet part of this book. I know I’m not doing that right. I’m eating way too little and I’m having a hard time telling myself to eat more.

I think it’s great how well you’re doing with this! I’ve been seriously back on the program for 6 weeks now. 4 of them, going 4-5 days a week, so I’m pretty pumped about that. I’m doing the cardio for weight loss and because I need to prove to myself that I can do this 10K. Dunno why it’s so important to me now, but it is.

Thanks for the support. You guys have all been great. This is not easy, but I’m really enjoying the effects now.

ok weird q – but have you taken any pics of yourself? i do starter pics and then every 4 weeks take more and compare and a lot of times i can see major improvement when my scale isnt moving. I dont mean post them! lol only you can see (and hubby if he likes em) but it is super cool when people do this. i have seen awesome before and after pics.

I’m getting in gear to do the next 5k and hope ot be doing a 10k at the marathon here in may (altho i dunno it seems sooo huge to me to do lol)

*waves* Hi! Yes, I’m still alive. I’ve had an interesting few weeks, but on the running, yeh… *grumble* at feet. I’ve seen a podiatrist a couple of times about my feet and had to have 2weeks off to allow my feet to recover from some running. On the upside, I’m onto the Highway to 10K program and am gonna take that one slower than I did the 5k program. Probably look at doing each week twice to allow my feet to get used to that distance.

Apparently, I found out from the podiatrist, that after carrying my weight around and then taking up running and losing weight it put strain on the ligaments in my feet. Hence, the pain. Some gals have all the luck LOL

Not complaining tho, I have 9mos to train and get myself into 10k so, I can do it!

wowee guys, that is so cool to see your motivation.

*scribbles down body for life* that sounds interesting Mel. You sound like you pushed through your wall and going full throttle – yey you.

Cinde, I have pics from 3 years ago when I was at my heaviest. I need to pull those up and make comparisons to now. It’s funny that you mentioned the pics, just the other day I took pics in my fave jeans and tshirt and planned to do exactly what you suggested…take more pics in a few weeks and compare.

Jodie, so glad you’re back and doing well!

  7. Cinde says:

Be sure to take pics in a swimsuit, i know that can be horrifying for some, doesn’t bother others, but it really makes a huge diff in what you can see. 🙂 I’m not showing mine until i have some good compare pics, lol!
