Well, it’s T-minus 33 days or so until the Surf City half marathon. (Oh my GOD!)

I went to the gym yesterday and had to quit the treadmill after 15 mins because my knee started throbbing. It was really weird actually. I did pop a couple Advil and ice it when I got home. We’ll have to play that one by ear.

Oh and my latest musical fixation is (Fair warning: I love cheesy music so if you prefer hardcore metal that’s not going to be your song).

I listen to it at the gym while I do situps. It’s the prefect situp speed and allows me to breathe.

How are you all doing? Anyone?

I went to the gym today, I figured it was a good way to start a birthday. Maybe it will have double the effectiveness or something.
The scale has NOT been going the desired direction lately, but its the holidays, might as well cut myself some slack and enjoy another glass of wine right?

I’m stuck on trying to get through week 4 of the C25K program. that 5 minute run really takes it out of me.

I just got an awesome book The NEW Rules of Lifting got Women – awesome. I’m getting back on track too. As far as my cool down music goes, it’s the ignition firing up on my car. 🙂

YAY CB! We’re all getting back on the wagon. And we’re doing it BEFORE new year’s eve so we are AWESOME!

Cinde, you always crack me up. Let me know about the new book. Sounds intruiging.

Side note. My abs are freaking KILLING ME

Cinde, I just ordered that book myself! Awesome!

Bunny, I’m so glad you went to the gym on your birthday. The only thing I do on my birthday is drink and gamble. You’re so much healthier than I am. LOL

My music varies. I do hip hop while running. I’m going to have to add a couple of songs to that playlist because I have to increase my time to 45 mins a couple days a week. and then my weights/abs playlist is a big mix from country, to metal, to 80s pop.

Awesome, Mel! I have been lifting on and off for over 10 years now, and i do like it way better than cardio. A lot of the stuff in the book I have done before, but not “their way.” I’m on day 2 and sore as all hell, but this is what I like to do! And it is big on HIIT or no cardio at all. Kind of hard when you are training for long distance runs, I know but – you can still incorporate their lifting part of it.

I have figured out my macros and eating which can be hard for people at first but I tell ya I feel better just by eating this way. Anyway lifting makes me feel awesome. Can’t wait to see what you think!

For me music wise, I have to have hard stuff to motivate me. But I do like to throw in some perky stuff like Britney, JT, TI, and Snoop Dog. The harder and intenser the music is, the harder I can go. I can’t function without music in my life, that’s why I laughed when i saw the post on how the ipod quit and one of you guys went home, I have done that. I find if I’m not listening to it in life I get depressed!
